No Sania Mirza Is Not Marrying Mohammed Shami. Here's What Her Father Said

New Delhi: Dismissing reports which claimed that Sania Mirza may marry cricketer Mohammed Shami, Indian tennis icon's father said that her daughter hasn’t even met the cricketer. “This is all rubbish. She has not even met him”, Sania's father said in a recent media interaction. Earlier this year, Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricket star Shoaib Malik got divorced. Similarly, Indian cricketer Mohammad Shami is also separated from his wife, Hasin Jahan.  

Rumours began swirling after Sania Mirza's recent appearance on the popular chat show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. During the show, she mentioned that she was "finding a love interest."

Sania Mirza's Divorce With Shoaib Malik

Sania Mirza has shared her first Instagram post since the news of her divorce from Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik became public. The couple, who married in 2010, have a son named Izhaan Mirza Malik.  Mirza posted on Instagram - Reflect -- with an image of her looking in the mirror.

“Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead! At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy,” the statement read.

Earlier this year, Shoaib Malik married a popular Pakistan actor amid rumours of separation from Sania Mirza. Taking to Instagram, Shoaib shared photos from their wedding ceremony on Saturday. "Alhamdullilah. And We created you in pairs", the Pak cricketer captioned his wedding picture.
