BREAKING: Old Delhi's Famous Sangmarmar Mosque Collapses Due to Road Subsidence

New Delhi: A sudden road subsidence in Old Delhi led to the collapsing of the famous Sangmarmar Mosque located in the area causing a chaotic situation in the area. The incident occurred Sunday afternoon, following which the local police along with the fire department officials and other concerned authorities rushed to the spot and initiated a rescue operation. It is being said that due to the collapse of the famous Sangmarmar Mosque, the entire street was blocked.

According to the police sources, a rescue operation was being carried out at the spot to clear the street and restore movement. Reportedly no was injured during the incident, as per the police.

The police sources claimed that on Monday afternoon, the road, near the mosque located in the Churiwalan area in Old Delhi, subsided, which resulted in the development of several cracks in the walls of the mosque. The incident occurred at around 11 am on Monday.

It is being said that the mosque leaned a bit towards the street, following which the people present inside the mosque were evacuated. At around 2 pm, the mosque collapsed.

The concerned authorities and the fire department officials are at the site and undertaking rescue operations at the site.
