Baba Siddique's Last Rites To Be Held With Full State Honours: Maha CM

Mumbai: The Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde has announced state honours for Baba Siddique, the NCP leader who was shot dead in Mumbai on Saturday evening.
Baba Siddique To Be Laid to Rest with State Honours
Eknath Shinde , the Chief Minister of Maharashtra has announced state honours for Baba Siddique.
In a statement, the CMO said, “ Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has instructed officials to arrange a funeral with full state honour for Baba Siddique as he served as minister in the Maharashtra govt during 2004-2008 and also as chairman of MHADA.”
Baba Siddique Shot Dead in Mumbai; 2 Assailants Arrested, 3rd Still at Large
Baba Siddique, according to police sources, was shot by three masked assailants outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui's office near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar, Bandra East, Mumbai on Saturday evening. The former state minister was admitted to Lilavati Hospital but couldn't survive, a police official said.
Mumbai Police immediately took action and two out of three assailants have been arrested and taken into custody, however, the third assailant is still on the run. Condoling the death of Baba Siddique, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured strict action in this murder.
Meanwhile, Mumbai police have taken into custody two of three suspects involved in the firing. The arrested accused have been identified as Karnail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, both residents of Haryana and UP, respectively. The probe into Siddique killing has been handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch. It is learnt that during investigation the two arrested shooters claimed that they belong to Bishnoi Gang. As probe continues, it has come to light that the assailants were were doing recce of that area for the last 25-30 days.
The shocking assassination of NCP leader Baba Siddique has raised serious concerns about the law and order situation in Maharashtra , where assembly elections are set to take place next month. A prominent Muslim leader from Mumbai, Siddique had represented the Bandra (West) seat in the assembly three times and was known for his close ties with various Bollywood stars.
