New Delhi: Elon Musk-owned microblogging platform X experienced a brief global outage on Wednesday, affecting thousands of users. The disruption, which lasted less than an hour, caused pages to fail to load and displayed the message "something went wrong, try reloading."

Outage tracking website Downdetector.com reported 915 outage reports in India at 9:15 am, nearly 36,000 in the US at 11:15 pm ET (8:45 am IST), over 3,300 in Canada, and 1,600 in the UK as of 11:20 pm ET (8:50 am IST). The cause of the outage remains unknown.

Indian users faced difficulties loading new posts and refreshing their feeds, with issues mainly attributed to the app.

This outage follows a recent incident where a Spaces conversation between Musk and former US President Donald Trump was interrupted, which Musk claimed was a “massive” cyber-attack.

Since Musk's $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, X has encountered frequent technical issues. Musk has previously criticized Twitter's code, describing it as “brittle.”
