New Delhi: YouTube, an American online video-sharing platform owned by Google is reportedly experiencing an outage for many users across India on Monday. Reports of YouTube experiencing difficulties began surfacing this morning, with numerous users taking to social media to express their frustration seeking answers. According to DownDetector, reports of issues began to surge at around 1.30 pm on Monday and reached a peak at 3.15 pm., during which the users complained about troubles with the app, video uploads, and the website itself.
The outage reportedly affected several Indian users, with some being able to access the site without any issues, and some encountering problems while loading videos or even accessing the platform entirely. The data analysis indicated that 43 per cent of the reports involve problems with the YouTube app, 33 per cent pertain to difficulties uploading videos, and 23 per cent relate to the website's functionality.
As the problem surfaced, it also started trending on social media platform X, where users were sharing their experiences, while trying to figure out a viable solution to the issue.
Meanwhile, after witnessing several posts and trending hashtags on YouTube Down, the company responded with a post on its official X handle, stating, “Thanks for flagging this! we're checking it out, we'll reach back out if we need any extra info!”
The exact cause of the YouTube outage remains unknown, common issues that could lead to such disruptions include server problems, maintenance activities or network issues. It is further possible that local internet service providers (ISPs) might be experiencing issues which have been contributing to the problem.
