Building Collapses In Lucknow, 5 Killed
Many people are feared to be trapped as the building collapsed in Transport Nagar in Lucknow on Saturday.
Lucknow: In a tragic incident, five person have been killed while 24 people were left injured as the building collapsed in Transport Nagar in Lucknow on Saturday, said Relief Commissioner G S Naveen Kumar.
5 Killed After Building Collapses In Lucknow
The building comes under the Sarojini Nagar police station area.
Police and rescue teams are at the spot.
Sub-District Magistrate Sarojini Nagar informed that 10 persons injured in the incident have been admitted to the hospital.
According to officials, the name of the building is Harmilap Building which is said to be 3 storey. Medicines were traded in the building. NDRF, SDRF, Police Administration, and Revenue Department officials are present at the spot.
12 People Have Been Rescued
We NDRF and SDRF and other agencies have responded. NDRF has rescued 3 people here. Before this, fire and other agencies rescued around 10-12 people.
CM Yogi Adityanath Instructs Officials To Expedite Relief Work
“CM Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the accident caused by collapse of building in Transport Nagar, Lucknow. The Chief Minister has instructed the district administration officials, SDRF and NDRF teams to reach the spot and expedite the relief work and immediately take the injured to the hospital for proper treatment. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured,” UP CMO posted on X.
Defence Minister and Lucknow Lok Sabha MP Rajnath Singh Expresses Grief
"The news of the collapse of a building in Lucknow is extremely painful. I have spoken to the District Magistrate of Lucknow over the phone and got information about the situation at the spot. The local administration is carrying out relief and rescue operations on the spot and is engaged in helping the victims in every possible way," Rajnath Singh said.
