Mumbai: Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport witnessed ugly scenes on Monday as passengers lost their cool after their flight got delayed by over two hours. Visuals from Mumbai airport have also been doing rounds on social media where passengers could be seen venting out their anger. If reports are to be believed, the flight was scheduled to take off at 11:30 AM but could not depart by 1:00 PM. Air India has attributed the delay to a technical issue.

The increasing incidents of flight delays have been a persistent issue for passengers, who are forced to endure extreme heat and suffocating conditions despite paying substantial amounts for their tickets.

On June 19, passengers on SpiceJet flight SG 486 from Delhi to Darbhanga experienced significant discomfort due to a lack of air conditioning amidst a severe heatwave. The over-hour-long ordeal left many travellers, including elderly individuals and young children, suffering from heat exhaustion and illness due to the oppressive heat and poor ventilation.

Similarly, on June 17, passengers on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Bagdogra were kept inside the aircraft for over an hour with closed doors and no air conditioning. Among the affected were several elderly passengers, many of whom faced breathing difficulties due to the suffocating conditions. Frustrated passengers likened the experience to being 'hijacked,' expressing confusion and distress over the situation.
