Chennai: On December 21, an unidentified body was found near the Kumaravadi area which comes under the Padalam police station in the Chengalpet district of Tamil Nadu. Later, the police identified that the John Doe was an auto driver Kumar who belonged to Kolappakkam area of the Chengalpet district.

While the police had been investigating the case since the day the body was found, earlier today the police arrested a DMK Councillor and his accomplices for murdering the auto driver.

49-year-old Damodharan is a municipality councillor from ward 45 of the Tambaram Corporation in Chengalpet district. Damodharan and auto driver Kumar have been friends for a long time. Damodharan, who became close with a woman named Velvizhi who was staying at this house for rent had gone ahead and married her. He had even given her assets and money worth Rs 2 crores.

Meanwhile, the auto driver Kumar, who is a very close friend of the councillor has been a regular visitor to their house which has increased the closeness between Velvizhi and Kumar that resulted in regular arguments and fights between Damodharan and Kumar. It is also being told that Kumar has been taking money and gold from Velvizhi without the knowledge of his friend Damodharan. 

Later, Velvizhi left the councillor to live with Kumar and the two have rented out a place near Thiruporur and have been apparently living together since the last few months. Damodharan, had been extremely upset about the situation and had been constantly picking fights with Kumar.
