Bus Mows Down Schoolgirl on Way Back Home, Angry Crowd Vandalises Vehicle in Delhi's Malka Ganj
A teenage girl died after being knocked down by a DTC bus in Malka Ganj area of the national capital.
New Delhi: A teenage girl died after being knocked down by a DTC bus in Malka Ganj area of the national capital on Tuesday afternoon.The deceased student has been identified as Komal (12).
Meanwhile, Sabzi Mandi police seized the bus and arrested the driver who has been identified as Sher Singh. Komal used to live with her family in Hotel Wali Gali in Malka Ganj. She is survived by her parents, a brother and a sister. The 12-year-old was a Class 8 student of a government school located in malka Ganj.
The tragic incident took place when she was returning home from school. When she was on way home, an Anand Parvat-bound DTC bus plying from Anand Vihar mowed down the girl, leaving her critically injured. The girl was rushed to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital where she succummed to her injuries in the evening.
The incident also led to panic and chaos in the area as locals vandalised the bus involved in the accident. Visuals surfaced from the incident site wherein people were seen vandalising the vehicle by damaging its windshield with stones.
Furious over the incident, the local people started pelting stones at the bus. The situation worsened to such an extent that the crowd was going to set the bus on fire just when police reached the spot and pacified the angry crowd.
