Dilapidated building in UP’s Siddharth Nagar collapses, two children dead
The incident occurred, while four children were playing in the building, says a police official.

In a painful incident, as many as two children died and as many got injured after a dilapidated building in Uttar Pradesh’s Siddharth Nagar collapsed on Saturday evening. The incident occurred in a village in Siddharth Nagar district, while the children were playing in the building.
Confirming the incident, senior police officials said that the incident took place under the Shohratgarh police station area. On the information, the police team immediately reached the spot along with other concerned district administration teams and initiated a rescue operation.
Police have initiated an inquiry into the matter
According to a senior police official, the deceased have been identified as 7-year-old Vikas and 8-year-old Gautam. The police official said that four children were playing in the dilapidated building when it collapsed.
During the rescue operation all the four children were taken out of the debris by the police with the help of local residents and rushed to a nearby hospital. At the hospital doctors declared two children dead.

The injured have been admitted to hospital, where their condition is said to be critical.
A case has been registered in the matter and further inquiry has been initiated.
