Maharashtra: Mother refuses to give money for alcohol, son kills her with iron rod

The Maharashtra police have arrested a 23-year-old man, who allegedly killed his mother after she refused to give money to him for alcohol. The incident took place in the Latur district of Maharashtra.

A police official on Sunday said that the accused has been arrested and sent to jail. He has been identified as Dnyaneshwar Nathrao Munde (23), while his deceased mother has been identified as Sangeeta Nathrao Munde (40).

Accused was arrested a day after the incident, says police official

Police sources revealed that the incident occurred in Satala village of Ahmedpur tehsil on Friday night. It is being alleged that accused Dnyaneshwar demanded money from his mother Sangeeta Nathrao Munde to buy liquor. Sangeeta, however, refused to give him money for alcohol, which miffed the man.

Later, in a fit of anger, he picked an iron rod and hit it hard on his mother’s head leading to her on the spot death. After the incident, the accused fled the spot after locking the house from outside.

The police have arrested the accused and further legal action is being taken in the matter.
