Mumbai's Sakinaka police arrests man who assisted drug mafia Lalit Patil flee

Sakinaka police arrested Sachin Wagh, a man who assisted drug racketeer Lalit Patil abscond. Wagh is Patil's driver and had aided him in being on the run.

In a significant development in the drug mafia Lalit Patil case, Mumbai's Sakinaka police on Friday (October 20) arrested Sachin Wagh, a man who assisted the drug racketeer flee. Wagh is Patil's driver and had aided him in being on the run from the law enforcement agencies. With Wagh's arrest, a total of 16 people have been held by police in this case.

Along with Wagh, two women - Archana Nikam and Pradnya Kamble, both residents of Nashik - were also arrested by the Pune police's crime branch. Wagh, along with two arrested women, had allegedly helped Patil flee from a Pune hospital around two weeks ago.

Drug mafia leader Lalit Patil, who was on the run, was arrested by a team of Mumbai police from Chennai two days before Wagh’s arrest. Patil is accused of having a connection with a mephedrone manufacturing unit in Nashik.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Satyanarayan Chaudhary said with Wagh's arrest, Sakinaka police have made a total of 16 arrests in the 151 kg mephedrone drug worth Rs. 305 crore that was busted at Patil's Nashik unit on October 6.
