New Delhi: A Delhi Police head constable died on Tuesday after he shot himself with a pistol at Jyoti Nagar Police Colony in Delhi. The deceased policeman has been identified as Vikas Chaudhary (38). 

The 38-year-old policeman shot himself in head. So far, no suicide note has been recovered by police. Soon after receiving the information, a police team rushed to the crime spot and found him lying in a pool of blood. A native of Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat, Chaudhary is survived by his wife and two daughters. Police have recovered the weapon used in the suicide.

Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the matter. More details are awaited.

Earlier in August, another head constable of Delhi Police died by suicide in Najafgarh area in the city. Sources said, his body was found hanging at his rented accommodation. The cop, identified as Anil Saini (37), was posted at the central Delhi’s Jama Masjid police station. He was staying in Nazafgarh, with his wife and two sons.

After police received the information, they rushed to his house and recovered his body that was hanging from a ceiling fan. His body was spotted by his family members who then alerted the police. Initially, the reason behind the extreme step was not known but it was suspected that he was under depression due to some family dispute.
