Disha Salian death case: Eknath Shinde to disclose names of probe officers

As per Mumbai Police, Disha Salian (28) allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a high-rise building in Malad area of Mumbai on June 8, 2020.

Mumbai: In a major thrust to the Disha Salian death case, the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is all set to disclose the officers involved in the investigation in the Legislative Assembly, sources suggested on Thursday, December 7. 

As per source, a high level panel will be constituted by the Maharashtra government to probe the cause of death of Salian. The team will likely be headed by a high level officer. The development comes after three and a half years of Disha Salian’s death.

Salian was the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. As per Mumbai Police, Disha Salian (28) allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a high-rise building in Malad area of Mumbai on June 8, 2020, a few days before Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. 

Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party had accused the Maha Vikas Aghadi government of suppressing the investigation in the matter. In December 2022, the Shinde-led government had announced that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be formed to probe the matter.

Disha’s parents had also written to former President Ram Nath Kovind seeking intervention in the probe and had demanded action against Narayan Rane, a union minister, and his son MLA Nitesh Rane for allegedly spreading fake news about the circumstances of Salian’s death. The family of Salian had complained of defamation.
