Gurugram: The convoy of Dushyant Chautala, Jannayak Janta Party Chief and former deputy Chief Minister of Haryana , was attacked during a road show in Uchana Kalan assembly constituency in Jind district, late on Monday night.

The incident was reported when Dushyant Chautala was addressing public during which the miscreants created a ruckus and attacked the convoy.

According to media reports, some unidentified people targeted the convoy with stones. Soon after the attack, heavy police force was deployed at spot which took stock of the incident.

Notably, the JJP leader was in Jind's Uchana from where he is contesting the assembly election. He was accompanied by his alliance partner Azad Samaj Party chief and MP Chandrashekhar Azad durig the attack. Both the leaders held a mega roadshow in Uchana.

Being the high-profile nature of the case, the police are on high alert and have launched an investigation into the incident. Uchana Kalan is one of the 90 assembly constituencies in the Haryana Legislative Assembly. Chautala won the seat in the 2019 elections. Earlier in 2014, he lost to BJP candidate Prem Lata.

In the upcoming elections, Chautala is facing a triangular fight against BJP 's Devender Chatarbhuj Attri and Congress 's Brijendra Singh.
