Ganji Kamala V Rao Gets One Year Extension As FSSAI Chief
This is GKV Rao's second extension on the post. His current extended term was to end on August 31, 2024.
New Delhi: Ganji Kamala V Rao tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has been extended by the Centre for one year, according to a Personnel Ministry order.
This is his second extension on the post. His current extended term was to end on August 31, 2024.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of the re-employment of Ganji Kamala V Rao as CEO, FSSAI on a contract basis for a period of one year beyond August 31, 2024, the order said.
Rao is a 1990-batch (retired) Indian Administrative Service officer of Kerala cadre.
He was named as the FSSAI chief in December 2022. Rao's tenure was extended by one year, beyond August 31, 2023, i.e. the date of his superannuation.
Earlier today, Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) officer, Satish Kumar was appointed as the new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Indian Railway Board as the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment to the post with effect from September 1. Kumar's tenure as Railway Board Chairman will run till August 31, 2025.
