Kulgam: In a decisive operation, the Special Operations Group (SoG) Kulgam, along with 34 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army, launched a significant encounter in Hadigam village in Kulgam of South Kashmir on Wednesday. The encounter operation continues on Thursday morning.
Two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped in as an encounter broke out at Hadigam area Jammu & Kashmir's Kulgam district. A joint team of the Kulgam Police, Indian Army and CRPF have launched a cordon and search operation. "Encounter has started at Hadigam area of Kulgam district," the Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on X around 10.30 pm.
The joint security forces swiftly responded to reports indicating the presence of 1-2 terrorists in Hadigam village.
Upon receiving intelligence, the joint security forces strategically sealed entry and exit points, effectively trapping the suspected terrorists.

The operation unfolded with an intense exchange of gunshots between the trapped terrorists and the joint security forces.
However, following the initial confrontation, an eerie calm settled over Hadigam village as no further gunshots were reported from the spot.

Meanwhile, joint security forces have extended the cordon operation and have intensified their efforts to apprehend or neutralise the trapped terrorists.
District Development Authorities are actively coordinating with the joint security forces to manage the situation and ensure the safety of locals in the surrounding villages.
