In conversation with Republic Network's Chairman and Editor-In-Chief, Arnab Goswami, Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia addressed critical issues in the aviation sector during Republic India's Economic Summit. Scindia revealed his hands-on approach to addressing airport congestion in December. He emphasized the need for swift action, stating, “If the airport does not play its role, then the aviation minister will sit and look at the process.”
Scindia on identifying key bottlenecks
Identifying key bottlenecks, Scindia uncovered reserved gates for pilots and crew, promptly instructing that no gates be reserved for anyone. He further mandated the creation of two additional gates to alleviate congestion.
Inspecting check-in and baggage drop counters, Scindia encountered space constraints. Undeterred, he directed airport staff to find alternative solutions. This led to the revelation of a VIP lounge reserved for ministers and prominent figures.
Scindia stated that’s when he disapproved of VIP privileges, and declared, "No such lounges will be reserved for anyone." He took action by breaking the VIP lounge, symbolizing a commitment to ensuring an equitable and efficient airport experience for all passengers.

Jyotiradiya Scinida’s surprise visit to IGIA
Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia recently made a surprise visit to Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), Delhi, amid complaints of congestion and overcrowding.
