In a joint operation conducted by Jammu and Kashmir police and the Army in Shopian on Thursday, a terrorist associated with the proscribed group TRF was neutralised. Incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition, were seized, and the search operation is still underway.
As per a PTI report, the encounter began in the Kathohalan area of Shopian, where security forces initiated a cordon and search operation based on intelligence regarding militant presence. Upon confrontation, the militants opened fire, prompting the forces to retaliate. As a result, one militant affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF) was killed. The Kashmir Zone Police confirmed the militant's affiliation in a post on X.
