Gurugram District Prepares for Haryana Assembly Elections with Voter Awareness Drive
Gurugram's voter awareness drive involves 1,200 RWAs, honoring top performers, with polls on October 1 for 1.49 million voters.
The Gurugram administration is gearing up for the Haryana Assembly elections with a comprehensive voter awareness initiative, set to engage residents across the district. The election is scheduled for October 1, and the administration plans to collaborate with over 1,200 Residents' Welfare Associations (RWAs) to encourage voter participation.
In a bid to boost voter turnout, the district administration will conduct a series of awareness activities at these RWAs. Additionally, a competitive edge has been added to the initiative, as the top three RWAs with the highest voter turnout will be honored for their efforts.
The upcoming election will cover four assembly constituencies within Gurugram district: Pataudi (SC), Badshahpur, Gurgaon, and Sohna. The voter list, published on August 27, reveals a total of 1,487,310 registered voters in these constituencies. The voter distribution is as follows: Pataudi with 253,000 voters, Badshahpur with 513,000, Gurgaon with 437,000, and Sohna with 283,000.
To facilitate urban voters, polling stations have been established in 126 high-rise buildings across the district. District Election Officer Nishant Kumar Yadav emphasized that these measures aim to make voting more accessible and convenient for all eligible voters.
As the election date approaches, the Gurugram administration's proactive approach seeks to ensure a high level of civic engagement and participation in the democratic process.
