Jaipur: Monsoon activity remained active across Rajasthan on Thursday, with four districts, including Kota and Ajmer, receiving heavy rainfall over the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department reported significant downpours in both western and eastern regions of the state, particularly in areas such as Rajsamand, Baran, Kota, and Ajmer.

According to data from the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, the state recorded light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thundershowers at several locations. However, certain districts experienced considerably heavier rainfall.

Nasirabad in Ajmer district was the wettest location, recording a maximum rainfall of 89 mm in the last 24 hours, up until 8:30 am on Thursday. Other notable rainfall figures include 77 mm in Khamnor (Rajsamand), 68 mm in Nathdwara, 67 mm in Devgarh (Kota), and 65 mm in Baran.

The weather office has predicted that rainfall activities will persist in parts of eastern Rajasthan until August 29. Specifically, regions within the Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, and Udaipur divisions are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, during this period.

The Meteorological Centre has also indicated a possible increase in rain activities in certain areas of Kota and Udaipur divisions between August 25 and 26. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall may occur in some parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions between August 23 and 24.

As the monsoon continues to impact the region, residents are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions.
