About 4,000 special guests have been invited to attend the 78th Independence Day celebration at Red Fort.

New Delhi: As India is set to celebrate its 78th Independence Day on August 15, about 4,000 special guests have been invited to the event which will be held at Red Fort in the national capital.
This time, Independence Day celebration will witness a diverse group of guests including farmers, youth, women, and people from low-income backgrounds. He had referred to these sections as the “four pillars of Viksit Bharat”.
Special Guests Categorised Into 11 Groups
- Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare sector: 1,000 guests
- Youth Affairs category: 600 guests
- Women and Child Development category: 300 guests
- Panchayati Raj and Rural Development category: 300 guests
- Tribal Affairs category: 350 guests
- School Education category: 200 guests
- Defence category: 200 guests
- Health: 150 guests
- Sports: 150 guests
- NITI Aayog: 1200 guests
Around 150 students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools, 100 tribal artisans, Van Dhan Vikas Yojana members, and 50 tribal entrepreneurs have also been invited.
As per reports, the Indian team from the 2024 Paris Olympics is also expected to attend as special guests for the ceremony. In total, about 18,000 e-invitations have been sent out for the 78th Independence Day event.

All special guests will arrive in Delhi on August 14. During their visit, some guests are scheduled to tour the National War Memorial and meet with senior ministers.
With the celebration of India's 78th Independence Day, Prime Minister Modi will become the second Prime Minister of India to address the nation for the 11th consecutive time. This feat has only been achieved by India's first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru.

Ministry of Women and Child Development said that the 161 field functionaries along with their spouses/companions’ have been invited from all States and Union Territories across the country to be a part of the celebrations at Red Fort as Special Guests at the 78th Independence Day Ceremony.
Chosen women workers of Anganwadis, Sakhi One-Stop Centres, Sankalp: Hubs for Empowerment of Women, Child Welfare Committees, and District Child Protection Units have been invited as special guests.
According to reports, guests will start arriving in the national capital from August 14.
