Kangana In Trouble Again: Court Issues Notice Over Her Controversial 'Independence' Remark
Kangana Ranaut is once again in hot water following her controversial comments about India’s independence.
Actress and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut is once again in hot water following her controversial comments about India’s independence. The Jabalpur District Court has issued a notice to Ranaut regarding her statements. The court has scheduled the next hearing for November 5.
What is Kangana's Controversial Statement?
Ranaut had previously remarked that the independence gained in 1947 was "freedom received as alms," asserting that the "real independence" occurred in 2014. These comments have provoked significant backlash, with many viewing them as disrespectful to the sacrifices made during India's freedom struggle.
The controversy escalated when Jabalpur advocate Amit Sahu filed a complaint with the police. When no action was taken, Sahu escalated the matter to the Special Court, leading to the court's decision to issue a notice to the actress.
