Kanjhawala hit & drag case: Rohini Court charges accused with murder, conspiracy
In the Kanjhawala hit-and-run case, the Delhi Police on April 1, 2023 filed an 800-page chargesheet against seven accused.

A Delhi court on Thursday, July 27 charged accused Manoj Mittal, Amit Khanna, Krishan and Mithun in the Kanjhawala hit-and-drag case under IPC sections 302 (murder), 201 (Destruction of evidence), 212 (harbouring offender), 120B (Criminal Conspiracy) after taking cognizance of the 800-page chargesheet filed against them. The accused have been directed to appear before the court on August 14.
Other accused Deepak, Ashutosh and Ankush were charged with 201, 212, 182, 34 IPC by the court. These three have been discharged from Section 120B IPC while Amit has additionally been charged with the Section of “Negligence Driving.”
According to the police, the charge sheet was prepared with around 117 witnesses.
Dragged by car for 13-kms
On the night of December 31, 2022, a woman was allegedly hit by a car and dragged for 13 kilometers in Sultanpuri area. The people in the car knew that a 20-year-old girl Anjali was trapped under the car. The accused stopped the car after going about 600 meters away.

The 800-page chargesheet
In the Kanjhawala hit-and-run case, the Delhi Police on April 1, 2023 filed an 800-page chargesheet against seven accused.
In its charge sheet, the Delhi Police said the accused men had “ample opportunities to save the victim but they intentionally and knowingly dragged her with the car so that she is killed”.

It further stated that the accused people “hit the victim and moved the car backwards and forwards and further dragged the victim for a very long distance…” The chargesheet stated that in “furtherance of their ill intention, plan and active participation, the accused finally killed her in a gruesome manner”.
