Karnataka Shocker: Man Drag Cop For Over 100 Meters on Car Bonnet During Traffic Check in Shivamogga

Near Sahyadri College in Shivamogga, Karnataka, a driver attempted to run over a police officer during a routine vehicle check after being signaled to stop.

Shivamogga: In a shocking incident near Sahyadri College in Karnataka's Shivamogga, a driver attempted to run over a police officer during a routine vehicle check. The incident occurred when traffic police from the East Station signalled a speeding car to stop.

Instead of complying, the driver, identified as Mithun Jagadale, accelerated, hitting the officer and causing him to fall onto the car's bonnet.

Jagadale then dragged the officer for over 100 meters before the officer narrowly escaped a fatal accident. Republic Kannada has also accessed a video of the incident wherein the driver, of a KIA Sonet car, was found to be overspeeding at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Shivamogga West Traffic Police Station, and an FIR is being filed against Jagadale, who works as a cable operator in Bhadravati.

The police are now investigating the matter further.

This is not the first time a police has been dragged, a similar incident took place in Chandigarh last month, where a constable was injured after being dragged on a Mercedes bonnet.
