Baramullah: A harrowing 9-hour ordeal for a 45-year-old trapped deep within a 40-foot well in Tangmarg village of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla, district culminated in a successful extraction on Thursday.
After relentless efforts by the police and other rescue agencies, the individual was finally liberated late Thursday evening, marking the end of a nerve-wracking chapter.
An official speaking to the Republic emphasized the extraordinary efforts made despite harsh weather conditions. "The man fell into the well while cleaning it, and our teams battled relentlessly to reach him," stated the official.
"At the urgent distress call, our collaborative effort with the police and local residents instantly mobilized equipment and skilled personnel for this daring rescue mission," mentioned a district officer.

Overwhelmed with emotion, the family and locals expressed profound gratitude to the Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES), Police Department, and the entire community for their unwavering support and courageous efforts, ensuring the triumphant rescue of their loved one.
"After an arduous nine-hour struggle, we triumphed in safely extracting the man from the perilous well," the official also confirmed, highlighting that the man is receiving necessary medical care in the hospital.
