Kolkata: As CBI continues its probe into the horrific rape and murder case of trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical Hospital in Kolkata, the prime accused in the case, Sanjay Roy, will undergo a polygraph test on Sunday, August 25. He will undergo the test at Presidency Correctional Home today, a day after it was postponed due to technical issues.

During a court hearing, Roy claimed that he was innocent and charges against him were false though he confessed about his wrongdoings during the CBI’s intense questioning.

The central probe agency may need a few more days to complete polygraph tests on all seven individuals involved, owing to the time-consuming process as only two devices are currently available, news agency PTI reported.

Meanwhile, the prime accused has been placed in Cell Number 21 of the correctional home under strict security, with CCTV cameras installed outside the cell. He is being held alone. Jail officials disclosed that Roy has told security guards he has no knowledge of the crime.

The CBI intensified its efforts in the ongoing probe into case and questioned over 15 people on Saturday, including 10 police officers and civic volunteers.

The probe agency on Saturday began lie detection tests on former RG Kar Medical and Hospital principal Sandip Ghosh and five others in connection with their investigation into the rape-murder of a woman doctor at the institute. The CBI has also registered a case of alleged financial irregularities at the same facility.
