Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility for Baba Siddique's Murder in Viral FB Post
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed the responsibility for the murder of senior NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, in a Facebook post.
New Delhi: The Lawrence Bishnoi gang on Sunday claimed the responsibility for the murder of senior NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui, in a Facebook post. The Facebook post by a gang member, which has now gone viral, read that the murder was due to Siddique’s links with Bollywood actor Salman Khan and underworld figures like Dawood Ibrahim and Anuj Thapan.
The post began with "Om, Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat" slogans, followed by, "I understand the essence of life, and consider wealth and the body as dust. I did a good deed and honoured the duty of friendship."
The post further read, "Salman Khan, we did not want this war but you hurt our brother."
The post shared on FB by a user named 'Shubuu Lonkar Maharashtra ' further claimed that once Siddique connived with Dawood under MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act). The viral post also mentioned the motive behind the killing, stating it was to take revenge from Siddique for "linking Dawood and Anuj Thapan with Bollywood, politics, and property dealings."
"We have no rivalry with anyone but anyone who supports Salman Khan and Dawood, should be prepared for consequences," the post further read.
The post concluded with a warning, "We will definitely give a reaction if anyone gets our brothers killed. We have never attacked first..."
Police Probing Authenticity of Viral Post
However, the authenticity of the post is under question with Mumbai Police saying that they will verify the authenticity and context of the post. Reacting to the viral post, Mumbai Special CP Deven Bharti said, "We have seen the viral social media post. Verifying authenticity and context.
Baba Siddique Murder
Baba Siddique died on Saturday after he was shot multiple times in Mumbai's Bandra by unidentified assailants. A former MLA, Siddique Baba Siddique was rushed to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. According to police sources, three assailants fired shots at Baba Siddiqui, leaving him critically injured. The firing took place outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui's office near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar. The incident has triggered panic, raising concerns over the safety and security conditions in the state.
Baba Siddique Murder: Police Arrest 2 Assailants
Meanwhile, Mumbai police have taken into custody two of three suspects involved in the firing. The arrested accused have been identified as Karnail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, both residents of Haryana and UP, respectively.
The probe into Siddique killing has been handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch. It is learnt that during investigation the two arrested shooters claimed that they belong to Bishnoi Gang.
As probe continues, it has come to light that the assailants were were doing recce of that area for the last 25-30 days.
Bishnoi gang Members Did Recce Before Killing Baba Siddique
According to sources, all three accused came to the shooting spot in Bandra East (where the shots were fired) on autorickshaw. Sources further said that before shooting former Maharashtra minister Siddiqui, all three waited at the spot for some time.
Further police suspect involvement of more people into the killing as they believe that there was someone else also who was providing information to the accused.
The shocking assassination of NCP leader Baba Siddique has raised serious concerns about the law and order situation in Maharashtra , where assembly elections are set to take place next month.
A prominent Muslim leader from Mumbai, Siddique had represented the Bandra (West) seat in the assembly three times and was known for his close ties with various Bollywood stars.
