Wedding Joy Turns Into Tragedy; 5 Killed, Several Injured As Tavera Collides With Tree

Bhopal: In a tragic accident, at least five people died on the spot on Tuesday night as a car returning after attending a wedding ceremony collided with a tree. The injured were admitted to a private hospital in Madhya Pradesh's Narmadapuram district. There were 11 people in the Tavera car and the accident took place near Saariyan on Pipariya Bareilly road. Another horrific incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh's Unnao where at least 18 people were reportedly killed after double-decker sleeper bus hit a milk tanker on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Soon after the Unnao accident several top leaders pour their heart out for the victims on social media. President Droupadi Murmu condoled the loss of lives in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao, and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured. "The news of the death of many people in a road accident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh is extremely sad. I express my deepest condolences to the family members of those who have become victims of such sudden death and wish for the speedy recovery of those injured," Murmu said on X.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday extended his condolences to the families of those killed in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh and said the local administration is providing all possible treatment to the injured. The bus was on its way to Delhi from Motihari in Bihar "The road accident in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh is heartbreaking. In this hour of grief, my condolences are with the families of those who lost their lives in this horrific accident. The local administration is providing all possible treatment to the injured. I wish the injured a speedy recovery," Shah said in a post on X in Hindi.

Drivers of the bus and milk tanker were among those killed in the accident and at least 19 were injured, according to the officials.
