Buxar: The Magadh Express, travelling from New Delhi to Islampur, was unexpectedly split into two sections after its coupling broke between Turiganj and Raghunathpur railway stations in Bihar ’s Buxar district on Sunday, officials reported. The incident occurred at approximately 11:08 a.m., no passengers were injured.

Railway officials stated that the train was safely brought to a halt after the coupling detached. Emergency protocols were immediately initiated, and efforts to reconnect the train were swiftly carried out to minimize disruption.

Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway Sharswati Chandra told PTI, "Yes, the incident took place when the coupling of the Magadh Express (20802) from New Delhi to Islampur broke, splitting the train into two between Turiganj and Raghunathpur railway stations. A rescue team as well as technical teams have reached the spot and officials are trying to rectify it at the earliest".

An inquiry will be ordered to probe the exact cause of the incident, he said.

The incident, though alarming, did not result in any casualties, and the passengers remained calm while the railway authorities worked on the situation.
