Maharashtra CM Shinde Orders 'Bulldozer Action' on Illegal Pubs In Thane, Mira-Bhainder Area
Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde directed the officials to bulldoze all the illegal constructions of pubs and bars in the Thane and Mira-Bhainder regions.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday instructed the Municipal Commissioners and Police Commissioners of Thane and Mira-Bhainder region to bulldoze all the illegal constructions of pubs and bars in the cities.
The direction for strict action against illegal pubs and bars was taken to make Thane and Mira-Bhainder city drug-free, said officials. It's expected that orders will be implemented on June 27 with the demolition of such illegal establishments.
The decision came to action after the a video from the Pune city surfaced on social media, allegedly from Liquid Leisure Lounge or L3 on Fergusson College Road, showing some youths with a drugs-like substance.
CM Shinde's order comes in the light of increasing cases of young men and women consuming drugs in Pune city.

Taking strong congnisancce of the situation, Shinde directed the Pune Police Commissioner and Municipal Commissioner to use bulldozers to destroy the unauthorized constructions related to drugs. The CM directed officials to initiate action against drug sellers and demolish illegal pubs and structures that flout building rules.

Implementing the orders, an extensive demolition drive was carried out in the Pune city. Following the demolition drive, the authorities are now ordered to take stringent action against illegal drug-related establishments in Thane and Mira-Bhainder cities.
