Maharashtra Weather Update: IMD Issues Red Alert in Pune & Satara, Yellow Alert in Mumbai For Today

New Delhi: As states like Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand witness the dark side of monsoon with cloudbursts and landslides, the weather department has also issued an alert for Maharashtra.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Maharashtra's Pune and Satara and a yellow alert for the capital city Mumbai, predicting heavy rainfall today.
Maharashtra Weather Update by IMD Mumbai
According to IMD Mumbai, moderate spells of rain are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Palghar, Nasik, Dhule, Nandurbar, Kolhapur, and Sindhudurg during the next 3-4 hours.
Red Alert Issued in Pune, Satara for Today
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the cities of Pune and Satara, predicting heavy rain today.

The residents are expected to remain in their houses and move out only if necessary.
Mumbai Rains: IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Today
Speaking about the Maharashtra capital, the weather department has issued a yellow alert in Mumbai for today and an orange alert has been issued for tomorrow, August 4, 2024.

A page on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), by the name of ‘Mumbai Rains’ has also issued a warning for the Mumbaikars.
The post reads, “Very heavy rains over the Western line & then the Central line will get soon. Stay indoors.”
More updates regarding traffic snarls, flight delays, disruption of local train services are awaited.
