Major Landslide Occurs In Himachal's Mandi, No One Casualty Reported

Mandi: Amidst incessant rain in Himachal Pradesh, a massive landslide took place in Mandi district, when a hill slipped down on a petrol pump on the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane at Chamukha in the Sundarnagar area of Mandi district. Due to the landslide, the petrol pump was entirely damaged and was left covered with debris. However, no person was reported injured during the incident, claimed police sources.

Soon after the incident, a team from the Sundarnagar police station reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Other concerned district administration teams also rushed to the spot and efforts were initiated to clear the debris.

The hill collapse incident was captured on video, which went viral on social media.

In the viral video, it can be seen that if the petrol pump employees had not escaped in time, a major accident could have taken place.

Sundarnagar police station, in-charge, Nanak Chand said that the police team has been sent to the spot and the situation has been assessed.

According to the police, a mountain collapse occurred near the petrol pump located at Chamukha in the Sundarnagar subdivision of Mandi District on Kiratpur-Manali road. Due to the hill collapse, the petrol pump was damaged as the major got buried under debris.

No information about injury or casualty has surfaced due to the landslide, said the police.
