Man Allegedly Kills Wife and Attempts Suicide in Jaipur

In a tragic incident in Jaipur's Gayatri Nagar area, a man allegedly killed his wife and later attempted suicide, according to the police. The incident occurred on Sunday under the jurisdiction of the Shipra Path police station.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (South) Sanjay Sharma reported that Vishnu Gupta, 48, is accused of murdering his wife, Sarita Gupta, 45, following a mutual dispute. "Vishnu Gupta allegedly killed his wife Sarita Gupta by attacking her with a hammer and later drank some poisonous chemical to kill himself," Sharma said.

Vishnu Gupta was subsequently rescued and admitted to a hospital where his condition is currently stable. A case has been registered against him based on a complaint filed by the deceased woman's brother. The body of Sarita Gupta has been handed over to her family after the postmortem.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.
