Man Kills Brother, Niece Over Business Dispute in UP’s Shahjahanpur

A man killed his brother and niece over a business dispute in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district on Tuesday.

Shahjahanpur: In a sensational incident, a man killed his brother and niece over a business dispute in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district on Tuesday. The incident, which occurred in the Nihogi area, sent a shock wave across the district. On information, the Shahjahanpur police rushed to the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to the mortuary of a nearby hospital for post-mortem.

Superintendent of Police (SP), Ashok Kumar Meena stated, the incident took place on Tuesday morning when 50-year-old Sripal was shot dead by his brother Sohanlal and his son Vishal. Hearing Sripal's screams, his 20-year-old daughter Saraswati rushed out and she too was shot, Meena said.

The police official said that both the victims died on the spot after being shot at during the incident.

According to the police, the brothers were in the mustard oil business and there was a dispute between them over its sale a few days ago.

The assailants used a licensed gun and a country-made pistol in the crime, Meena said.

The bodies of the victims have been sent for postmortem, police said, adding that the accused are currently on the run and a manhunt has been launched to nab them, the SP added.

Further legal action into the matter is being taken.
