Meanwhile, the Jharkhand BJP president urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to take action against people infested with "Talibani mentality". He attacked that such incidents are happening as a result of the JMM government’s muslim appeasement.

“As a result of Muslim appeasement by the Hemant Soren government, people with anti-national extremist ideology in Jharkhand have now started openly displaying their nefarious intentions. Waving the Palestinian flag during the Muharram procession in Dumka, the deputy capital of the state, is an act of treason and also a despicable attempt to spread fear among the general public of the area,” Marandi said in a post on X.

Marandi added, “The way Bangladeshi infiltrators have been settled under the protection of the state government with the aim of eliminating the tribal indigenous identity of Santhal Pargana and securing the vote bank, the common people will have to suffer its dire consequences.Take strict action against such people with Talibani mentality.”

Earlier, West Bengal Leader of Opposition and senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday shared a video of a Palestinian flag purportedly being raised at a religious procession in the Murshidabad district. He also called on the police to take "appropriate action" against "such anti-national elements who "waved the flag of a foreign country on Indian soil".
