Massive Fire Engulfs Bengaluru's MS Ramaiah Hospital, Rescue Operation Underway

Bengaluru: In Bengaluru, a massive fire broke out on the third floor of MS Ramaiah Hospital in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit located in the Sanjaynagar area on Thursday afternoon. The fire incident caused major chaos in the hospital, where a number of critical patients were admitted for treatment. According to the Bengaluru police, no casualties have been reported.
A senior official of the Bengaluru police on Thursday said that the fire was reportedly triggered by a spark in a faulty AC duct in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit around 1.25 pm. The fire quickly spread throughout the building, following which the entire hospital was filled with smoke risking the lives of the patients at the hospital.
According to the reports, the staff of the hospital, after noticing the fire and smoke in the hospital, rushed to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and swiftly shifted the patients present in the room, rescuing them to the safer place.
It is being said that a few of the hospital staffs sustained injuries. However, no major incident occurred during the fire incident.
A fire tender from Yeshwantpur Station had arrived at the scene and managed to douse the fire within an hour. Further rescue operations were being carried out at the hospital.
The Sadashivanagar police had arrived the spot. No complaint has been registered by the authority yet, officers said.
However, the police are trying to ascertain the cause of fire at the MS Ramaiah Hospital.
