Monkey Mayhem: Woman Dies As Cement Statue falls on Her in Karnataka's Bagalkote
Statue was dislodged by the Monkey at a temple. Weighing more than 50kgs, the statue fell straight on the head of the woman resulting in her death.

Bagalkote (Karnataka): In a tragic incident, a 44-year-old woman was killed after a monkey displaced a cement statue at a Chandradevi temple which eventually fell on her head in Bagalkote district.
The deceased has been identified as Surekha Kambara.
According to police, the incident occurred when a woman was selling vegetables near the temple.
“Woman was having a stall near the Chandradevi temple. A lot of traders and customers from various villages used to come at the market,” a police official said.

Police further mentioned that the cement statue weighed 50kg and was in a dilapidated condition. She was declared brought dead at a nearby hospital.
A case of unnatural death under BNS section 194 has been registered.

In a similar incident earlier this year, a six-year-old girl died reportedly after a cement sculpture, resembling a deer, fell at Muddinakoppa Tree Park near Shivamogga in the month of January.
The girl, Sameeksha, was on a visit to the park with her mother. Her father is Harish, a resident of Gandhi Bazar in Shivamogga. The sculpture fell as she was sitting on it. She suffered a head injury, forcing her mother to take her to a hospital. She had breathed her last by the time they reached McGann hospital in Shivamogga.
