MSIL outlets in Bengaluru record 2X jump in liquor sale on Dec 31. The amount is staggering

The MSIL said that the number on New Year's Eve was twice as higher than what the outlets record on normal days i.e. around Rs 8 crore.

The MSIL liquor outlets clocked in a whopping amount with liquor sale in Karnataka's Bengaluru on December 31. According to the official figures, 1,031 liquor outlets recorded liquor sale worth Rs 18.85 crore from across the state. The MSIL said that this number on New Year's Eve was twice as higher than what the outlets record on normal days i.e. around Rs 8 crore.

MSIL Managing Director Manoj Kumar said that it is an increase of Rs 4.34 crore from the sale in December 31, 2022 when the outlets sold liquor worth Rs 14.51 crore.

The official statement revealed that a liquor shop near Raichur railway station recorded the highest sale of Rs 11.66 lakhs followed by the one on Gunj road (Rs 9.96 lakhs) in the same city.

Moreover, the Bengaluru urban district topped the districts list with a sale of Rs 1.82 crore worth of liquor, up from Rs 1.35 crore the previous day.

At the upgraded and first-of-its-kind MSIL boutique which was recently inaugurated at Thimmaiah Road in Basaveshwaranagar, liquor worth Rs 3.5 lakh was sold on December 31, up from Rs 2.59 lakh the previous day.
