Mumbai: The Indian cricket team finally brought the 'Cup of Joy' home. The 'Men in Blue' created history on June 29, 2024 by winning India's second T20 World Cup, a feat that they managed to replicate after 17 long years. As of today, India are the only international team after England (2010 & 2022) and West Indies (2012 & 2014) to win the T20 World Cup twice. The trophy has been testament of their never die attitude and hard work as they became the only team to win the tournament undefeated.
Humanity Prevails Over World Cup Glory
The members of the Indian Cricket team was all set to participate in the 'Victory Parade' organized in Mumbai. More than half of the Mumbaikars took to the street to celebrate the World Cup glory and applaud the players for their historic feat. A huge crowd was expected, but as soon as the clock ticked towards the hours of victory parade, more and more people started to join in. Amid all the emotions of success, being the worldbeaters and the ecstasy of being world champions, the people of Mumbai showed what humanity of highest order can do. An ambulance was struggling to cross the jam-packed Marine Drive road and could barely move. Seeing the urgency, the Mumbaikars made way for the ambulance and let it pass through.

India create history at Barbados
The Indian team went on to defeat South Africa in the finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at Kennington Oval, Barbados. The Indian team won the tournament undefeated and are the only team in the history of cricket to do so. This win also marked Rohit Sharma's 50th T20I win as a captain, a feat that no other skipper has in the history of the game.
