Mumbai: Two coaches of an empty rake of an electrical multiple unit (EMU) derailed while entering the Mumbai Central car shed on Sunday, October 13, informed the Western Railway (WR). The train derailment incident, which took place at around 12.30 pm, has affected the rail network in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region as several trains were diverted to fast line between Churchgate to Mumbai Central. The train services are continuing.
In a post on X, the Western Railway wrote, "Two coaches of one EMU empty rake derailed while entering the Mumbai Central carshed At around 12:10 hrs. The slow track from Churchgate to Mumbai Central is held up, and trains are being diverted to fast line between Churchgate to Mumbai Central and train operations are continuing.
However, there were no immediate reports of any injuries.
"No injury of any kind as the rake was empty," the post further read.
