Mumbai Rains: IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Several Districts Amid Heavy Downpour
A yellow alert for light to moderate rainfall has also been declared for Pune, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Dhule, Nashik, Kolhapur, and other surrounding regions.
Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for moderate rain in Mumbai following a fresh spell of rain that swept through parts of the city on Wednesday, providing much-needed relief from the heat for residents.
In addition to Mumbai, thunderstorm alerts were also issued for Navi Mumbai, Panvel, Thane, and suburban areas. “Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and moderate spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mumbai during next 3-4 hours", the IMD said in a statement.

Taking to X, social media users shared several pictures and videos showcasing the rainfall and thunderstorms in the city, with dark clouds prominently visible.
Furthermore, the IMD has issued several alerts for heavy rainfall in other parts of the country.
“Heavy rainfall likely to occur over Arunachal Pradesh , Assam , Meghalaya , Nagaland , Mizoram , Manipur , Tripura, Madhya Maharashtra , Konkan & Goa , South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Tamil Nadu & Lakshadweep today,” the weather department said in a post on X.
