New Delhi: A 27-year-old man from Muzaffarnagar, died in Leh while on a solo bike trip to Ladakh. The young man identified as Chinmay Sharma succumbed to health complications caused by oxygen deficiency in the high-altitude regions of the Union Territory.

Chinmay, who worked at a digital marketing company in Noida, began his journey on August 22. Days before his death, he had informed his family about his deteriorating health condition. Despite efforts to save him, Chinmay died shortly before his parents could reach Leh.

On Monday, Chinmay had contacted his father, Parag Sharma, a teacher at MG Public School in Muzaffarnagar, complaining of a headache. Parag advised his son to rest and seek medical attention. Later that day, Chinmay called again from his hotel, struggling to breathe. Alarmed by his son's condition, Parag immediately arranged for the hotel manager to take Chinmay to a hospital.

However, despite receiving treatment, Chinmay breathed his last on Thursday, just hours before his parents arrived in Leh. Doctors later confirmed that his death was caused by low oxygen levels in the high-altitude region.

Chinmay, the only child of his parents, was cremated in Muzaffarnagar on Friday. His mother, Priyanka Sharma, is a teacher at SD Public School in Muzaffarnagar.
