'New Noida': Delhi-NCR to Get New City By 2041 | Check Details
Uttar Pradesh Government Approves Master Plan for 'New Noida,' Aiming to Boost Western UP's Growth
Noida: The Uttar Pradesh government has given the nod to plan to develop a new city in the National Capital Region (NCR), named 'New Noida,' under the Master Plan-2041. This project, set to significantly enhance the UP's west region's infrastructure and economy, is part of the state’s broader vision for rapid industrial and urban development.
Government Approval and Phased Development
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath 's administration has approved the Master Plan-2041, which outlines the development of New Noida across 84 villages in the Dadri and Bulandshahr areas. The plan was initially tabled during the Noida Authority's 210th board meeting, and after a period of public objections in September 2023, it received final approval in January 2024.
Satish Pal, Additional CEO of the Noida Authority, stated that work on the city’s development would be carried out in four phases:
- 2023-2027: 3,165 hectares of land will be developed.
- 2027-2032: 3,798 hectares will be developed.
- 2032-2037: 5,908 hectares will be prepared for urban use.
- 2037-2041: The final phase will cover 8,230 hectares.
Guidelines for land acquisition, which will follow the mutual consent or land pooling process under the Aabadi Niyamavali 2013, are expected to be issued soon.
NCR to Get ‘New Noida’
New Noida, spanning 209 square kilometers, will accommodate an estimated population of 6 lakh. The city’s layout emphasizes industrial growth, with 40% of the land designated for industrial use, 13% for residential purposes, and 18% for green spaces and recreational activities.
In the Dadri Noida Ghaziabad Investment Region (DNGIR), a large portion of the land—approximately 8,420 hectares—will be set aside for industrial development. The Master Plan aims to create a balanced city environment, allocating land as follows:
- Residential: 2,810 hectares
- Commercial: 849 hectares
- Green areas and parks: 1,792 hectares
- Recreational facilities: 530 hectares
- Traffic and transportation infrastructure: 2,963 hectares
New City to Give Economic Boost
New Noida is being hailed as a key growth engine for western Uttar Pradesh, particularly through its focus on industrial development. In its first phase alone, the project is expected to create jobs for approximately 3 lakh people.
The Noida Authority has allotted Rs 1,000 crore for land acquisition in the first phase, ensuring that the necessary groundwork is in place to meet the development goals.
