As the members of Parliament transitioned from the old to the new Parliament building for the first sitting of the special session, the staff were seen donning new uniforms. The outfits of the parliamentary staff underwent a mega transformation as the traditional uniform showcased the flavour of Indianness. The dress code has been implemented for the staff of both houses of the Parliament who are Chamber attendants, officers, Marshals security personnel
The revamped uniforms have been designed by the expert committee of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).
New dress code for Parliament staff
The male employees who carried out the legislative work in the Parliament House were seen wearing cream-coloured bandh gala jackets with pink lotus prints and white shirts and pants including white turbans. The attire will be the same for the staff of both houses.
The female staff have received new red-coloured sarees with Lotus imprints on the border.

The security personnel deployed outside of the Parliaments will be donning army camouflage attire.
The second day of the special Parliamentary session took place in the new Parliament building, which was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on May 28. Built at a cost of Rs 862 crore, the new building narrates India's democratic traditions from the Vedic period to the present day while being integrated into several modern features.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged Members of Parliament to reaffirm the commitment to make India a developed nation by 2047 and described the move to the new Parliament building as a new beginning towards a new future.
He was addressing a gathering of MPs at the historic Central Hall of the old Parliament building during a function to commemorate the rich legacy of the Parliament of India. The Special Session of the Parliament is currently underway as it commenced on September 18t and will be concluded on September 22, 2023.
