Passenger Train Derails Near Saharanpur Railway Station, No Casualties Reported

Saharanpur: The Delhi-Saharanpur MEMU train on Sunday derailed while approaching the Saharanpur railway station yard after 2-3 coaches of the train went on another line. The incident occurred during a shunting operation at around 1.30 pm on Sunday. According to the information, the train derailed while it was passing through a moveable segment of track that was used to transfer trains between distinct rail lines.
Reports suggested that no one was harmed during the incident as the train was empty, when the derailment took place.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) of Ambala, Naveen Kumar said, “I would want to provide clarification regarding the news that is doing the rounds in Saharanpur. The train had terminated and was heading into the yard. If the passenger train derails in the yard, one coach will be affected. It doesn’t affect the movement of any other trains."
