PM Modi to Visit US From Sept 21-23, to Attend Quad Summit & Key Events | Full Schedule
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United States of America from September 21 to 23, where he will participate in the Quad Summit.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United States of America from September 21 to 23, where he will participate in the Quad Summit. On Tuesday, the Ministry of External Affairs said that during the visit, Prime Minister Modi will attend a meeting of the Quad group, which will be comprised of India, the United States, Japan, and Australia.
In its statement, the ministry said, that during the visit to the US, the prime minister will take part in the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, which is being hosted by US President Joe Biden on September 21.
Additionally, following the request of the United States to host the Quad Summit, India has agreed to host the next Quad Summit in 2025.
The Prime Minister will also address an event at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 23. PM Modi will address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly in the presence of several world leaders.
It is also being said that PM Modi, on the sidelines of the Summit, would be holding bilateral meetings with several world leaders and discuss issues of mutual interest and is also likely to address a gathering of the Indian community on September 22.
The MEA on Tuesday shared a detailed itinerary of PM Modi's US trip.
PM Modi Will Attend Quad Summit On September 21
PM Modi will participate in the Quad Leaders' Summit on September 21 in Wilmington in Delaware, the meeting hosted by US President Joe Biden at his hometown, who will be meeting the world leaders for the last time as the President of the US. Since, during next year’s Quad Summit in India, the US will have a new President.
According to the MEA, apart from PM Modi, the Quad Summit will be attended by Japan's Fumio Kishida and Australian Premier Anthony Albanese, among others. These leaders will review the progress achieved by the alliance in the last one year and will also set the agenda for the next one year.
PM Modi Will Address Indian Diaspora On September 22
On his second day of visit to the US, PM Modi will address the Indian diaspora at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Sunday. According to a PTI report, more than 24,000 members of the Indian diaspora have signed up for the event titled ‘Modi & US’ Progress Together'. During the day, the prime minister will also interact with CEOs of leading US-based companies to foster greater collaborations between the two countries in the cutting-edge areas of AI, quantum computing, semiconductors and biotechnology.
Not only this, Prime Minister Modi is also expected to interact with thought leaders and other stakeholders active in the India-US bilateral landscape.
PM Modi Will Address UN General Assembly On September 23
PM Narendra Modi , on September 23, will address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. This year, the theme of the Summit is ‘Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow’.
The MEA stated, a large number of global leaders are expected to participate in the Summit. On the sidelines of the Summit, the Prime Minister would be holding bilateral meetings with several world leaders and discuss issues of mutual interest.
