New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu has announced a series of new appointments, naming new Governors for nine states and a new Lieutenant Governor for Puducherry, the Rashtrapati Bhavan has announced on Saturday night.
Haribabu Bagde Named Rajasthan Governor in President's New Appointments
In a major reshuffle, Haribabu Kisanrao Bagde, former Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly, is now the Governor of Rajasthan. Jishnu Dev Varma, who served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, has been named Governor of Telangana.
Om Prakash Mathur, a former Rajya Sabha MP, has been appointed Governor of Sikkim, according to the communique issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Santosh Kumar Gangwar, a former Union Minister, is the new Governor of Jharkhand, replacing C.P Radhakrishnan, who has been given the charge of Maharashtra. Ramen Deka, a former Lok Sabha MP from Assam, is now the Governor of Chhattisgarh.

Former Karnataka Minister C.H. Vijayashankar has been appointed as the Governor of Meghalaya.
Gulab Chand Kataria, currently the Governor of Assam, has been appointed as the Governor of Punjab and the Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, following the resignation of Banwarilal Purohit. Lakshman Prasad Acharya, the Governor of Sikkim, will now be the Governor of Assam and also the Governor of Manipur, the communique said.

Former IAS officer K. Kailashnathan has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
The newly appointed Governors are expected to assume charge of their respective offices on the dates they formally take office. This reshuffle is part of the ongoing efforts to ensure effective governance and administration across the states.
The President of India has also accepted the resignation of Shri Banwarilal Purohit as Governor of Punjab and Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan expressed gratitude for the services of Shri Banwarilal Purohit and conveyed best wishes to the newly appointed Governors as they take on their new responsibilities.
