Kolkata: Sensational revelations have been made by the Kolkata police investigating the trainee doctor’s murder case stating that a preliminary probe into the rape and murder of the doctor in a state-run hospital in Kolkata disclosed that the accused was addicted to watching violent porn content while drinking at night. On the fateful night, the accused, identified as Sanjay Roy, allegedly watched pornographic content while drinking before allegedly raping and killing the doctor.
According to police sources, at around 11 pm on the day of the murder, Sanjay Roy watched porn while drinking liquor in the backside of the hospital at night. The police also revealed that during the analysis of the mobile phone of the accused, several violent pornographic videos were found.
"During the examination, police found several violent pornographic videos on Sanjay Roy's mobile phone. His mobile was almost full of violent porn videos which indicate that either he was a mentally ill person or a pervert," sources said.

The Department of Chest Medicine, where the assault took place, has two entry points. On the night of the crime, one of these entrances was closed, leaving the back door open.
Sources said that CCTV footage captured five to six people entering the department through this back entrance at around 4 am. However, police have confirmed that these individuals had legitimate reasons for their presence, as they were attending to relatives admitted in the hospital, they added.
Roy, however, had no such reason to be in the department that night. Investigators have described him as having a "perverted mind", pointing out that the type of pornographic material he consumed was not of the sort "people usually watch".
Further investigation revealed that after committing the crime, Roy attempted to destroy evidence. Police have found indications that he tried to wash away blood stains from the scene. The CCTV footage also shows Roy leaving the seminar room at around 4:45 am.
After the crime, Roy made his way to the barracks of the 4th Battalion, where he fell asleep. He was arrested in the same location and was still intoxicated.
Roy, who has been sent to police custody till August 23, has been charged under sections 64 (rape) and 103 (murder) of BNS.
