Pune Hit-and-Run: 1 Killed, 2 Injured After Drunk Driver Rams Truck into Car

Pune: At least one person was killed while two others sustained injuries after a truck rammed into a car on Pune-Solapur district in Daund Taluka this week. A video of the same incident has gone viral.

The accident occurred on Wednesday, August 21, when a group of friends was en route to Akkalkot to visit the Shree Swami Samarth Samadhi Math when their car broke down in the middle, as per reports.

The video shows that while the group was waiting, a container truck rea-ended their vehicle, dragging it along.

It was found that the container truck driver was drunk.

Following the incident, the driver, identified as Pradeep Mane has been detained and a case against him has been registered.

Noida Hit And Run: Traffic Inspector Injjured 

Meanwhile, a traffic inspector was injured after an SUV hit him in NCR's Noida.

As per reports, the inspector named was posted at Noida's Rajnigandha Intersection, when he received information about a suspicious vehicle.  

When the inspector tried to stop the vehicle, the driver of the car tried to run away at a very high speed.  

In the horrific incident, the traffic inspector Jai Prakash Singh was seriously injured and was admitted to the local Hospital.

According to reports, Singh chased the car by taking a lift from an Activa scooter, in the meantime the XUV 500 hit the two-wheeler and it tried to run away after critically injuring the inspector and the scooty owner.

The driver then left the car and ran away from the spot. A case was registered on the complaint of traffic inspector Jai Prakash Singh and the vehicle was seized.
